On March 11, Japan was hit by a major earthquake, which was followed by a tsunami. The official death toll has now risen to more than 11.000. Another 17.500 people are still listed as missing. A lot of houses have completely been destroyed, even more houses were seriously damaged and more than 400.000 people are living in emergency shelters. In addition there is  the threat of a nuclear disaster. Providing food, water and other supplies to the evacuees is an increasing problem. At this moment all our Shin-Etsu sister companies are initiating a fund-raising action. The employees of Shin-Etsu PVC B.V. are also participating.
