People & Environment

Our mission
We are convinced that all accidents, work-related illnesses, and environmental or safety incidents can be prevented. Our ultimate target is therefore: zero accidents, zero incidents and zero work-related illnesses. Our endeavour is to integrate safety, health and environmental matters into the process of running the company. When it comes to these issues, we would like to be the company with the best performance in the region.

Our surroundings
Shin-Etsu is a responsible manufacturer, so it supports the efforts of the European PVC industry to make sustainable development possible. Shin-Etsu has signed the Voluntary Commitment drawn up by the PVC industry to minimize the effects of products and manufacturing processes on the environment (See www.vinyl2010.org). In addition, Shin-Etsu is a member of several organizations within the PVC industry that function at national level in various European countries (see for example www.pvcinfo.nl).

Learning from mistakes and incidents is essential if one is to improve one's performance. An open culture is extremely important for achieving this. We therefore invest a great deal in ways of changing culture and behaviour, and employees are encouraged to acquire more knowledge and to increase their skills.

Combine ambitious environmental targets with a healthy management strategy.
